VACCINATION UPDATE

There has been some recent media coverage regarding the correct use of vaccines for dogs and cats.  We would like to reassure all of our clients that we have always used the most modern vaccines and used appropriate protocols.  Over 12 months ago the governing bodies recommended the use of triennial (3 yearly) vaccination regimes for core diseases (Distemper, Hepatitis and Parvovirus in dogs).  As such we have been following those recommendations for over 12 months now.  Non-core diseases such as Canine Cough and Cat Flu still require annual vaccination, and heartworm prevention remains as an annual or monthly treatment.  In addition the importance of annual check-ups can not be over-emphasised as a lot of problems are picked up in this way that can then be treated early.

DIGITAL DENTAL XRAY MACHINE

We have recently purchased a top quality digital dental xray unit.  This enables us to take high quality images of dog and cat teeth which is important in the treatment of many dental diseases.

DIGITAL X-RAY AT STRATHALBYN

We are excited to announce that we have a new state of the art digital x-ray system at the Strathalbyn Clinic. This means our x-rays will be of the highest standard, enabling us to get a more accurate diagnosis, whilst minimising x-ray exposure and anaesthetic time.

HOSPITAL ACCREDITATION FOR GOOLWA

After years of planning and hard work, recently our Riverport clinic in Goolwa became accredited  as a Veterinary Hospital by the Veterinary Surgeons Board of South Australia.

Out of approximately 200 veterinary clinics in South Australia, only 21 have achieved this accreditation, so what does it mean for you?......

Being a Veterinary Hospital means that we offer a higher level of service than that of a normal veterinary practice.  Accreditation indcates that we have demonstrated a commitment to provide a greater level and range of service to the public and their pets.  Hospital Accreditation is an acknowledgement of our commitment to a high standard of professional service.

HIA BUILDER'S AWARDS WINNER!

Our new Riverport Veterinary Hospital recently won the award for Best Commercial Development under $1 Million.  This is a great recognition for all the hard work undertaken by our building designer, builder and all the trades that contributed to the finished product.  For those of you that have been on a clinic walk-through you will agree that the Hospital is of a very high standard.
